Josh Withers · Professional MC
Hobart master
of ceremonies.
Good people. A great occasion.
Someone to bring it all together.
I’m Josh. I host corporate events, conferences, celebrations and weddings with a calm head, a warm welcome and a feel for the room.

& everything in between.Josh
Every room is different.
I’ve been in a few.
- 25,000
- people at a music festival
- 5,000
- delegates at a conference
- 15
- people around a workshop table
A host for your kind of gathering
You bring the people.
I’ll bring it together.
A good MC does more than announce the next speaker. They listen to the organiser, understand the occasion and help the whole event feel good. Here’s where I come in.
01 / Corporate & community
Corporate events.
Conferences. Connection.
From a Hobart conference to a corporate function, awards night or community celebration, I bring a clear voice and an easy, human energy to the room.
I take direction from your event team and work from notes, rather than burying my head in a script. The aim is simple: keep the program moving, give your speakers a proper welcome and keep your audience connected.
- Conferences & business events
- Awards nights & celebrations
- Community events & festivals

02 / Wedding MC
Your wedding MC.
All the feeling.
Your wedding deserves to feel like you. I take the time to get to know you as a couple, so the words, the energy and the way the day comes together feel personal.
I’ve created thousands of wedding ceremonies around the world. As your wedding MC in Hobart or elsewhere in Tasmania, I bring that same care, warmth and sense of occasion to hosting your celebration.
Looking for the ceremony as well? I’m also the marriage celebrant behind Married by Josh.

Something useful to take home.
I also speak to business groups about AI and automation, marketing, social media and better small business workflows. Practical ideas, explained by someone who uses them. If you need a keynote speaker or workshop presenter as well as an MC, let’s talk.

The way I see it
An event should
feel as good
as it looks.
You’ve put thought into the people, the place and the plan. My part is to make those things feel connected. A little humour, an eye for detail and the confidence to let a good moment breathe.
That’s the job. Bring people together, give the occasion its due, and make it feel good to be there.
A few words from the people who were there
The feeling they took home.
“The day flowed because of him, there was so much worry taken off of our shoulders”
“Josh was a total pro and brought both the levity and the authenticity we were wanting.”
“It was the best day of our lives, and I couldn’t imagine it being anywhere near as wonderful without the help of Josh.”
The person holding the microphone
Josh Withers.
At home in Tasmania.
I live in the Huon Valley with my wife Britt and our two daughters. Husband, dad, hobby-farm enthusiast, Foo Fighters fan and gadget nerd. There’s a fair bit going on behind the microphone.
My working life has taken me through radio, television, weddings and business. I’ve appeared on the Today Show, Sunrise and Married at First Sight, and I’m just as happy helping a small group find its feet as I am hosting a big room.
Hobart is close to home, but I travel across Tasmania, including Kingston, Launceston and Devonport, as well as interstate and overseas for events.

Before we pick up the microphone
A few
good questions.
What does a master of ceremonies do?
A master of ceremonies (MC or emcee) hosts your event: welcoming guests, introducing speakers, connecting the parts of the program and keeping the room engaged. My job is to work with the organiser, keep things flowing and bring a calm, human presence to the microphone.
What kinds of events do you MC in Hobart?
Corporate functions, conferences, awards nights, community events, festivals and weddings. I’ve hosted everything from small business workshops to conferences with thousands of delegates, so the approach changes with the audience and the occasion.
Do you travel beyond Hobart?
Yes. I’m based in the Huon Valley and work across Tasmania, including Hobart, Kingston, Launceston and Devonport. I also travel interstate and internationally. Send me your event date and location so we can talk about availability and travel.
Can you be our wedding MC and marriage celebrant?
Yes, I work as both a wedding MC and a marriage celebrant. Tell me whether you’re looking for someone for the ceremony, the reception, or both, and we can discuss what suits your wedding. You can see more of my ceremony work at Married by Josh.
Do you also offer keynote talks and workshops?
Yes. I speak to business groups about AI, automation, marketing, social media and modernising small business workflows. If you’d like a workshop or a speaker as well as an event host, include that in your enquiry.
How much does it cost to book you as an MC?
Get in touch for a quote for your event. Include the date, location, event type, approximate audience size and the hours you need an MC. Those details give us a useful starting point for discussing the scope, availability and fee.

Got a date?
Let’s talk.
Tell me what you’re planning, when it’s happening and where. A conference, a celebration or your favourite people in one room. I’d love to hear about it.
